The social care sector employs more than 1.49 million people and the demand for skilled workers is rising. Our course is designed for those wishing to pursue a career in health and social care. It will introduce you to a range of roles within the sector, occupational standards and universal principles of care, allowing you to decide which aspect of health and social care you would like to work in.
You will develop an understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of people who work in health and social care settings which will include following policies and procedures in place in the health and social care setting in which they work, healing and supporting the recovery of people and enabling rehabilitation. You will gain the knowledge needed to provide the correct equipment and adaptations to support people to be more independent, how to carry out assessments and care support plans involving service users and their families.
You will also have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and complete your first aid training.
